Wales manager Ryan Giggs has said that winger Daniel James is striving to be the best following another fantastic performance for the national team.

The 21-year-old netted a brilliant goal in a slender 1-0 victory over Belarus on Monday evening, taking his record to four goals in his last six games for club and country.

Whilst the former Swansea City man has enjoyed an electric start to the 2019/20 season, Giggs has suggested that James is still targeting much more improvement.

Speaking after the win after Belarus, he said: “Early on when I saw DJ, just like any young winger, there can be that improvement in the final ball and scoring more goals. But he’s doing that.

“To do what he’s done at the start of the season is amazing. The next step obviously is that consistency, which he’s shown so far and he needs to carry on.

“But I’ve got no doubts that will happen because he wants to be the best.”

James could continue his hot-streak on Saturday as Manchester United attempt to get their season off of their ground against Leicester City at Old Trafford. He sits at 13/2 with Paddy Power to net the opening goal of the game against Brendan Rodgers’ men.
