Wednesday evening’s solitary match in the Premier League sees Chelsea host Aston Villa, with both sides in good spirits following opening day victories at the weekend.

Returning manager Jose Mourinho continued his remarkable form at Stamford Bridge with the 2-0 victory over newly promoted Hull City; a result which extended his unbeaten home run in the league with the Blues to 61 games.

Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku, Andre Schurrle and Demba Ba are all pushing for starts, with Mourinho likely to rotate his squad with one eye on Monday’s trip to Old Trafford.

However, David Luiz will once again miss out with a hamstring injury, which could mean Gary Cahill and John Terry retain their places in the heart of defence.

Frank Lampard’s free kick on Saturday was surely one of the best of his 204 goals for the club, and the England international is 7.0 (6/1) with Ladbrokes to open the scoring, while Lukaku is favourite at 5.5 (9/2) with Sky Bet.

The home side are odds on for the victory, with a variety of firms offering odds of 1.3 (3/10), with Villa as highly priced as the 13.0 (12/1) given by 888 Sport. The draw is 6.0 (5/1) with Bet Victor.
Aston Villa’s victory at the Emirates on Saturday was the main talking point on day one of the Premier League season, with the club going top of the league until Champions Manchester United’s win over Swansea City later in the day.

Nathan Barker will miss out after twisting his ankle at the weekend, so Ciaran Clark is likely to start while Yacouba Sylla returns to the squad after recovering from his injury.

Christian Benteke is unsurprisingly the most likely Villa player to get the first goal of the game in the eyes of the bookmakers, with Bet Victor offering the best price of 10.5 (19/2).

Last season’s corresponding fixture finished 8-0 to the hosts, but with the game expected to be a lot less one sided this time around, you might want to take advantage of Bet Victor’s offer of 5.0 (4/1) for Chelsea to win by a single goal.
