Chelsea have been offered AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piątek as their search for a striker intensifies, according to The Independent.

It has been reported that Frank Lampard’s Blues have been searching for another forward throughout the January transfer window to support current top scorer Tammy Abraham, especially with Olivier Giroud set to depart Stamford Bridge.

The London outfit have also been linked with a move for Paris Saint Germain frontman Edinson Cavani but the Uruguayan would favour a move to Atletico Madrid.

That has led to Piątek being offered to the club, with AC Milan reportedly keen to sell for financial reasons, however Chelsea would prefer to loan the Polish forward before agreeing to any permanent switch.

Piątek has only been at the San Siro for just over a year following a big-money move from fellow Serie A side Genoa. Despite an electric start to life in Milan, in which he found the net nine times in just 18 Serie A appearances, he has found it more difficult throughout the 2019/20 season, only finding the net on four occasions in the league.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a potential move for Piątek, with skipper Harry Kane having been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury. Spurs are more fancied to secure his signature this January at a price of 11/8 with William Hill, whilst Chelsea can be backed at 4/1.
