Chelsea are set to continue their impressive summer business by reportedly edging close to a triple deal for Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva.
According to Sky Sports, Frank Lampard’s Blues have beaten considerable competition in the race for Havertz’s signature having agreed a fee of £90m to bring the midfielder from Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, another of one of the summer’s long-running transfer sagas is set to conclude, with Ben Chilwell set to arrive from Leicester City. The England full-back is apparently set to sign for a fee of approximately £50m.
The final new arrival is reportedly set to be former Paris Saint Germain defender Thiago Silva. The 35-year-old played his final game for the French giants on Sunday evening as the club fell to a slender 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League final.
His contract with the French giants expired after the game and he is now able to sign for Chelsea on a free transfer. Should the deal be completed, it would be the Brazilian’s first venture into English football.
The arrivals of the defender, Chilwell and Havertz follow Chelsea’s already impressive transfer business throughout the summer so far. They have already swooped for Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech from RB Leipzig and Ajax respectively.
Chelsea sit at a price of 14/1 with Betfred to win the Premier League title during the 2020/21 season.
