Saturday’s Premier League action kicks off at the Vitality Stadium where Bournemouth take on fellow strugglers Newcastle United.

The hosts are without a win in five in the league, losing four of those games in a run that has seen them slip to seventeenth place, and they are ahead of their weekend opponents by a single point.

Victory here would see them, if only momentarily move level on points with champions Chelsea, who themselves sit in fifteenth place after their surprisingly slow start to their title defence.

Artur Boruc and Steve Cook are both doubtful having missed the last two games with thigh and ankle problems respectively with Callum Wilson, Tyrone Mings, Max Gradel and captain Tommy Elphick are long term absentees.

Glenn Murray is favourite to open the scoring at 7.0 (6/1) with Bet Victor with Matt Ritchie a 9.0 (8/1) chance with Paddy Power.

The Cherries are favourites to take all three points at 2.25 (5/4) with the visitors as highly priced as the 3.5 (5/2) on offer from 888 Sport. The draw can be backed at 3.6 (13/5) on offer from Bet Victor.

Steve McLaren’s side have failed to score since thrashing Norwich City by six goals to two last month, and go into the game on the back of a goalless draw with Stoke City.

Three points here would see them move out of the relegation zone, leapfrogging Eddie Howe’s side in the process while defeat could see them end the weekend on the bottom of the table.

Newcastle top the injury table but could welcome back Daryl Janmaat and Kevin Mbabu who have recovered from respective knee and shoulder issues.

Rob Elliot should be fit enough to play in goal, with Karl Darlow a fortnight away from a potential return and first choice shot-stopper Tim Krul out for the season.

Aleksander Mitrovic is 7.5 (13/2) to get the first goal of the game with a number of firms ahead of Georginio Wijnaldum who can be backed at 10.0 (9/1) with Bet 365.

With neither side scoring in each of their last two fixtures, you may be tempted to back the goalless draw at 13.0 (12/1) with a variety of firms while Bet Victor offer 4.0 (3/1) for there to be fewer than two goals scored in the game.
