Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly the latest side to an express an interest in Leicester City wideman Demarai Gray.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of the 2020/21 season and looks sure to depart the King Power Stadium, with no sign of a renewal in the offing.

There appears to be a number of clubs potentially considering making a move for his signature including AS Monaco, Benfica, Crystal Palace and Marseille. According to Sky in Germany, Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen are the latest to join the race for the winger.

Whether they make a move during the final week of the January transfer window or elect to wait until the summer for a free transfer remains to be seen but should Gray arrive at the BayArena, he will likely be competing with the likes of Leon Bailey, Moussa Diaby and Paulinho for a place in the starting lineup.

Since signing for Leicester from Birmingham City back in 2016, Gray has gone on to make 169 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals. He has found opportunities extremely difficult to come by during the current campaign though having made just one Premier League appearance, being introduced as a substitute against Crystal Palace back in December.

He is again unlikely to feature for the Foxes this week as they take on Everton at Goodison Park, a game which Brendan Rodgers’ men can be backed at odds of 13/8 with Betfair to win.
