Gareth Barry EvertonEnglish midfielder Gareth Barry is adamant he is fully fit to take part in Everton’s weekend match against Chelsea at Goodison Park.

The 32-year-old joined the Toffees on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day after finding it hard to cope with the fierce competition for places at Etihad.

Home game against Chelsea is an opportunity for the experienced midfielder to play his first match in Everton jersey and he claims he is relishing the occasion.

“It’s a fantastic first game to potentially be involved in but it’s the manager’s decision because I have not played loads of minutes at the moment”, he told the club’s official site.

“I feel fit. I haven’t missed a day’s training and I featured in bits and bobs of the pre-season games.

“The season’s a well under way now and I’ve not played but I am confident if asked to play I can do a good job.”

After sharing spoils in their first three league fixtures, Everton are 3.50 (5/2) at SkyBet to return to winning ways against the Blues.
