Monday evening’s game at Villa Park sees a struggling Aston Villa side host second place Manchester City.

The hosts go in to the game having won just one of their last eleven league games, though they will climb out of the relegation zone if they avoid defeat here.

Villa captain Ron Vlaar looks set to recover from a calf problem that kept him out of last weekend’s defeat to Arsenal, whilst Shay Given is available for selection but Darren Bent will miss out with a foot injury.

Top scorer Christian Benteke, who has five goals in his last five games is 9.0 (8/1) with a variety of firms to open the scoring, while Andreas Wiemann is a 14.0 (13/1) shot with Bet Victor.

The home win is as highly priced as the 8.0 (7/1) offered by Bet 365, with the draw 4.75 (15/4) with the same firm.
Manchester City are unsurprisingly odds on favourites for the victory, and are widely available at 1.5 (1/2).

The Champions ended a winless run of three Premier League games with victory over Chelsea last Sunday, though Manchester United’s win against Norwich City on Saturday sees them fifteen points off the pace.

Captain Vincent Kompany is likely to remain out with a calf injury, but Gareth Barry has recovered from an ankle problem in time to face his former club.

Sergio Aguero is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 4.75 (15/4) with Bet 365, with Carols Tevez 5.0 (4/1) pretty much everywhere. Yaya Toure, who has three in his last two games, is worth considering at 9.5 (17/2) with Bet Victor.

Aston Villa came out on top when these sides met in the third round of the League Cup back in September, however the reverse fixture in the league was a different story altogether.

Roberto Mancini’s men ran out 5-0 winners at the Etihad Stadium in November, with Aguero and Tevez each scoring twice after David Silva’s first half opener.

However, despite the gulf between the sides, City’s league form has been inconsistent of late, and a repeat of that drubbing looks unlikely. With this in mind, you may prefer to back the more modest score-line of 2-1 to the visitors, which is a 9.5 (17/2) chance with Bet Victor.
