Aston Villa vs West Brom

Tuesday evening’s game at Villa Park sees Aston Villa host Queens Park Rangers, with both sides desperate for the points as they look to retain their Premier League status.

Tim Sherwood’s side go in to the game on the back Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester United – a result which has left them just two points above the bottom three, and defeat here would see them drop into the relegation zone.

Aly Cissokho and Kieran Richardson could both return, though Scott Sinclair and Ashley Westwood are doubtful and Alan Hutton is definitely out with an ankle injury.

Christian Benteke is favourite to get the first goal of the game at 5.75 (19/4) with Stan James, with Gabriel Agbonlahor a 7.5 (13/2) chance with a variety of firms.

The home win is 2.15 (23/20) with several companies, with the visitors as highly priced as the 3.8 (14/5) on offer from Bet 365. The draw is a 3.5 (5/2) chance with Sporting Bet.

Rangers ended a five game losing streak with victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, and now sit just two points from safety.

Another win here would see them leapfrog their opponents on goal difference, and also move them level on points with a Hull City side who still have to play four of the top six.

Eduardo Vargas misses out after picking up a knee problem at the Hawthorns at the weekend, while Yun Suk-Young is too side-lined after being concussed in the same game.

Charlie Austin is 8.0 (7/1) to open the scoring with Bet Victor, while Bobby Zamora, fresh from his stunning strike at the weekend, is a 10.0 (9/1) chance with the same firm.

The Hoops ran out 2-0 winners when the sides met at Loftus Road back in October, while it was Villa who won last season’s corresponding fixture, with the previous three encounters ending all square.

You can back both teams to score at 1.95 (19/20) with Betfair, while the same firm offer 1.4 (2/5) for there to be two or more goals in the game, as there has been in thirteen of the past fifteen meetings.
