Swansea captain Ashley Williams admits he is proud by the reported interest from Arsenal amidst speculations linking him with a move to the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger is believed to have made the Wales international his number one target as he aims to add more steel to his back line.
The Gunners were long ago expected to make an official bid for the player’s services, but it looks as though he is no closer to moving clubs than at the end of the season.
Even so, Williams has confessed that he finds the transfer talk flattering despite being fully focused on pre-season training with the Swans.
“It means you’re doing something right and people are talking about you at least,” Williams told Sky Sports News.
“I take it as a compliment. I don’t really read the papers and that type of thing. You don’t really know, as that’s the future, and I can’t really say. Different circumstances determine different things.
“I’m working hard trying to talk things through with the squad and the manager on the field, and trying to iron out a few things for the season.”
