Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has revealed that Barcelona have inquired about the availability of Cesc Fabregas.

The Spaniard looks to have set his mind on a return to Barcelona and all that’s left is for the two clubs to agree a transfer fee.

The Catalans had a €40 million bid rejected last summer, but they are now hoping to close the deal for even less.

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood confirms that Barcelona have approached the Gunners to sign Fabregas, but also reveals that the Catalans have yet to make a formal offer.

“Yes, they have spoken to us about Cesc. They have been in touch. But so far they have not made a bid and we do not want to let him go,” Hill-Wood told The Mirror.

“But he comes from Barcelona so it is understandable if he wanted to go back. However, they have not made an offer so far.”

The Catalans are also on the verge of signing Udinese striker Alexis Sanchez and everything suggests they will be even stronger than last season. Having said that, you should know that Barca are 1.67 (2/3) with Betfair to defend the La Liga title.
