Italian striker Mario Balotelli will not be leaving Anfield this summer, according to the player’s official representative.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a pretty disappointing season with the Reds, having made just 16 Premier League appearances and scored one goal.
Balotelli was, therefore, widely expected to leave the club in the summer transfer window, but his agent claims Liverpool have no plans to let him go.
“No. We had talks with Liverpool and he will definitely stay,” agent Mino Raiola told Sky Sports.
“I think Mario did adapt. I can’t talk about Brendan Rodgers, obviously that is something for Brendan, but I think Mario did.
“I have spoken at various times to the club and they were happy with his input and professionalism. Obviously we have to improve the performance but I am really confident that will happen this year.”
The Reds ended the current campaign eight points behind Champions League positions and they are 3.75 (11/4) to finish in top 4 next term.
