Danny Rose has said that he is delighted to have joined Watford after leaving Tottenham Hotspur.

Watford have announced on their official website that Rose has joined them on a free transfer.

The Englishman will move to the Hornets on a two-year contract.

The 30-year-old left-back left North London club Tottenham at the end of last season.

The Englishman was on the books of Spurs from 2007 until the end of the past season.

Rose had a loan spell at Watford from Tottenham in 2009.

The 30-year-old had been struggling for playing time at Spurs in recent times.

Rose has said that he is delighted to have made the switch to Watford and cannot wait to get started.

The left-back told Watford’s official website: “There’s been interest in the past and it’s just never happened. I’m over the moon that I’m here, considering the year that I’ve had.

“I’ve not played for a while so I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity again.”

Rose added: “I’m keen and I’m over the moon that I’m here. I was possibly looking to go abroad but I’ve been given an opportunity to play in the best league again and I intend to take it with both hands.”

Watford will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

Betfair rates the Hornets’ chances of going straight back down to the second tier of English football at 4/5.
