StanciuIn what has been described as a ‘shock rumour’ in England, Premier League giants Chelsea have been linked with a summer move for a Romanian midfielder Nicolae Stanciu.

If reports from Mirror are to be believed in Antonio Conte is lining up a move for Romania international, who scored 14 times and managed 11 assists for Steaua Bucharest last season. The 23-year-old starlet added four goals in seven international appearances for Romania this year.

Nicolae Stanciu also featured for his country at the 2016 European Championship finals in France where he was able to showcase his talents to a wider audience and apparently grab the attention from the Blues manager.

Stanciu’s brilliant form continued during the midweek when the Romanian starlet scored a brace in a 2-0 win over Sparta Prague in Steaua Bucharest’s Champions League qualification match.

Stanciu is a versatile midfielder who can either play wide or behind the forward line and is being regarder as a direct replacement for Oscar who fell out of manager Conte’s favour.

Chelsea are believed to be mooting on a £6 million bid which would be enough to prise Stanciu away from Steaua in the summer transfer market.

Being viewed as more cost-effective addition to Conte’s squad, Nicolae Stanciu is still regarded as a shock target for the Premier League outfit, who are looking to build a squad strong enough to compete for major honours next season in the English top flight.

Blues currently look at the betting odds of 7.5 (13/2) @WilliamHill to be crowned Premier League champions at the end of the new campaign.
