Liverpool right-back Calvin Ramsay has expressed his delight at making his debut for the Reds in the UEFA Champions League game against Napoli this week.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Napoli 2-0 at Anfield in UEFA Champions League Group A on Tuesday evening.
Ramsay came on as a substitute for first-choice right-back Trent Alexander Arnold on 87 minutes.
It was the 19-year-old Scotland Under-21 international right-back’s first competitive appearance for Liverpool since his move from Aberdeen in the summer transfer window.
And Ramsay was delighted to have finally played for the Liverpool senior team.
Ramsay told Liverpool’s official website: “I was a bit nervous, to be honest.
“Since I came to the club I’ve been injured but I’m just delighted to be back now.
“I’ve played a few games with the U21s and built up my fitness. So to be back in the first-team squad and come on, my family there, [it’s] a moment I won’t forget.”
The teenager added: “It’s just a dream come true, something I’ve dreamed of as a little kid. To actually be playing in the Champions League, it’s just amazing.”
Liverpool will return to action on Sunday when they take on Tottenham Hotspur away from home at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side can be backed at 15/2 on Betfair to win the match against Tottenham 2-1.
