Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has given his reaction to his side’s win against Marseille at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the UEFA Champions League this week.

Premier League club Tottenham got the better of Ligue 1 outfit Marseille 2-0 at home in their opening UEFA Champions League game on Wednesday evening.

Brazil international forward Richarlison scored both the goals for Tottenham.

Conte told Tottenham’s official website: “It was really tough, but we knew this and when we started to prepare the game through the video, also on the pitch, we understood very well that the game would be really tough.

“We are talking about a team that is very strong physically, they go man to man and try to win every duel.

“I think the first half we struggled a bit in these types of duels and maybe only once we kept the ball and attacked the space and shot with Harry.

“The second half we did this much better, started very well with this type of situation, Sonny attacked the space, and it was a red card. The game changed. After this, we created chances.”

Tottenham will return to action on Saturday evening when they take on Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

Spurs can be backed at 17/1 on Betfair to win the game against City 2-1.
