Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has said that he is pleased with his side’s win against Villarreal in the Champions League this week.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Villarreal 2-0 at Anfield in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday evening.

An own goal from Pervis Estupinan saw the Reds take the lead in the 53nd minute, and Sadio Mane made it 2-0 just two minutes later.

Liverpool are rated at 15/2 on Betfair to win the second leg 2-0.

Robertson told Liverpool’s official website: “We had quite a few chances in the first half, just trying to break them down and trying to keep doing what we were doing.

“The first goal always kind of does that. We then had a bit of momentum, the noise in here was incredible after the first goal and it kind of took us to the second one.

“We’d have liked to add maybe one more but it wasn’t meant to be. But a clean sheet and two goals, we can’t argue with that.”
