The 2014/15 Championship season kicks off in little over two weeks as promotion favourites Cardiff City take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

The Bluebirds were relegated after just one season back in the top flight of English football, and they can be backed at a price of 3.5 (5/2) with Bet 365 to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

Next in the market are last season’s play-off final losers Derby County who, along with the rest of the division kick off on Saturday, August 9th.

The Rams, who begin with a home game against newly promoted Rotherham United, are widely available at 4.0 (3/1) to go up ahead of relegated dup Norwich City and Fulham, who can each be backed at 4.33 (10/3) with Coral.

Bet 365 offer a price of 4.33 (10/3) for Wigan Athletic to return to the Premier League, having lost to Queens Park Rangers in the play-off semi-finals last season while Watford, who are heading into an eighth season outside of the top flight, can be backed at 6.5 (11/2) with Sporting Bet.

Nottingham Forest begin a new era under Stuart Pearce with a home game against relegation favourites Blackpool, and East Midlands side are worth considering at 7.0 (6/1) in the promotion market with Sky Bet, with Reading available at the same price.

Blackburn and newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers, who both dropped out of the Premier League in 2012, can each be backed at 7.5 (13/2) with a variety of firms while Brighton and Hove Albion, who finished in the top six last time around, are an 8.0 (7/1) chance with Bet Victor.

Middlesbrough are 8.0 (7/1) with 888 Sport, ahead of 9.0 (8/1) shots Bournemouth and Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers, who are priced at 10.0 (9/1) with Bet 365.

Yorkshire duo Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday can each be backed at 13.0 (12/1) with a variety of firms with Brentford, who are back in the second tier of English football after over two decades, 15.0 (14/1) with Stan James.

Birmingham City are a 17.0 (16/1) chance with Bet 365, with Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United all 21.0 (20/1) with the same firm, and Millwall and Blackpool rank outsiders at 34.0 (33/1) with Bet 365 and 51.0 (50/1) with Coral respectively.
