Sunday’s Premier League action commences at Anfield where Liverpool host Manchester United, with both sides well in the hunt for a Champions League qualification place.

They go in to the weekend in fifth and fourth place respectively, separated by just two points with only nine games left to play.

Brendan Rodgers’ men are unbeaten in their last thirteen league games, winning ten, and the last of victories came on Monday evening, when Jordan Henderson’s strike was enough to secure all three points at Swansea City.

Lucas Leiva is available after missing the past five weeks with a groin injury but may not be risked, while Mario Balotelli has recovered from the illness that kept him out of the Reds’ visit to the Liberty Stadium.

Daniel Sturridge is favourite to get the first goal of game with a number of firms offering a price of 6.0 (5/1), ahead of 11.0 (10/1) chance Steven Gerrard.

The home win is widely available at 2.15 (23/20), with the visitors as highly priced as the 3.85 (37/13) on offer from 888 Sport. The draw is 3.5 (5/2) with a variety of bookmakers.

Louis van Gaal’s side have lost just one of their last eight league games, and go in to the weekend just two points behind Champions Manchester City in second place.

Angel Di Maria could return after serving a one-match ban though Johnny Evans is still suspended while Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw are likely to miss out despite recovering from injury.

Wayne Rooney is 7.0 (6/1) to open the scoring with Stan James, while Radamel Falcao is a 8.5 (15/2) chance with Bet Victor.

United ran out 3-0 winners when the sides met at Old Trafford back December, though last season’s corresponding fixture ended in a 1-0 victory to the Merseyside team.

There has been a clean sheet kept in each of the last four clashes, so you may be tempted to back both teams not to score at 2.1 (11/10) with Sky Bet, while the home win to nil is worth considering at 3.75 (11/4) with the same firm.
