English Premier League Outright Markets Update

With a quarter of the English Premier League season having passed, the table is beginning to take a familiar look, with both sides of Manchester joining Chelsea in the top three.

At the other end of the division, pre-season favourites for relegation Reading and Southampton sit in the bottom three, joined by a QPR side who, as many will remember, only secured their top flight status on the final day last term.

Everton have gone against their recent tradition by making a promising start to the campaign, though it is West Bromwich Albion, who have undoubtedly been the surprise package as they sit in fifth place, just above North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Having beaten Arsenal Saturday lunchtime, Manchester United hit the top of the league for the first time this season. Robin Van Persie, who opened the scoring at the weekend with his eighth goal in ten games, is currently 2.75 (7/4) with Paddy Power to win the golden boot, and 4.33 (10/3) with Bet Victor to do so alongside his team being crowned Champions.

Luis Suarez’s superb equaliser against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon took his tally to seven, just four short of his total for the whole of last season. With the Uruguayan in such good form, you might be tempted by the 21.0 (20/1) on offer for Manchester United to finish first, with Suarez as top scorer.

Despite currently sitting in fourth position, Everton are as highly priced as 6.5 (11/2) to finish in the Champions League qualification places, with Arsenal odds on with all firms to finish in the top four for an eighteenth successive season.

West Brom are priced at 2.1 (11/10) with Stan James to maintain their impressive form and, as they did last time around, secure a top ten finish, whilst Ladbrokes intriguingly price Liverpool, currently twelfth, at 7.0 (6/1) to finish in the bottom half.

As for the battle for survival, winless QPR are a best price of 1.57 (4/7) with Ladbrokes to avoid the drop, whilst you might be tempted to take advantage of the 11.0 (10/1) offered by Bet Victor for Sunderland, who have just one win, and six goals to their name so far, to be relegated.
