Olympiakos Volos were very lucky to win the first leg in Belgrade as they were largely outplayed by their opponents, but seeing they already have a one-goal advantage in their pockets, the Greeks will be looking to hurt the visitors on counterattacks. The Serbian have no choice but to attack their opponents, so everything suggests we will see a very open game.

Olympiakos overcame all the problems

Despite finishing last league campaign in impressive 5th place, Olympiakos Volos faced a lot of uncertainty this summer as the Greek Football Federation were pondering whether to expel them from the elite division because of the alleged involvement in match fixing. However, nothing happened and the team were allowed to continue their preparations for their first ever European campaign. Talented manager Javi Garcia arrived this summer to try and build a squad capable of playing a role in Europa League, while Igor Obert, Alejandro Cascio, Stephane Darbion and Andre Schembri were brought as reinforcements. Olympiakos Volos did well to win the first leg against Rad, although they were lucky not to concede a goal considering the number of chances they allowed to their opponents. The hosts should now adopt a more attacking approach and try to record another win.

Coach Javi Garcia has no injury worries and could field the same side that started the game in Belgrade.

FK Rad missed a great chance

FK Rad boast one of the most talented squads in Serbian elite division and they have produced some really impressive performances to finish in 4th place last season. The Gradjevinari stayed without several important players as Milan Borjan, Aleksandar Todorovski, Milos Dimitrijevic and Vladimir Jovancic all left, while only several youngsters arrived to increase competition for places. Rad, nonetheless, showed a lot of attacking potential in the first leg against Olympiakos Volos, but they missed several great chances and ended up losing the game 1:0. The Serbian team now have no choice but to attack their opponents, although they will have to be wary of dangerous counterattacks. FK Rad travel to Greece with a very young squad and we are yet to see if that will be a disadvantage.

Coach Slavko Petrovic faces big selection worries as Branislav Jovanovic and Nikola Raspopovic are out through injuries, while Branislav Danilovic is doubtful. Midfielder Radomir Kokovic is waiting for international clearance after returning from loan spell at China.

Verdict

With FK Rad trailing by one goal, we should see a very open game in Greece between two teams with a lot of attacking potential. An early goal could open the game up, so I expect to see goals galore at Panthessaliko Stadio in Volos.

Our prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Odds: 1.95 (19/20)
