Meyer Draxler GoretzkaGermany coach Joachim Low has hinted that Schalke starlet Max Meyer could make the country’s 23-man squad for the 2014 World Cup finals.

The 18-year-old has managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Veltins Arena this term and has largely impressed to score 6 goals in 29 Bundesliga outings.

And even though the talented midfielder hasn’t even debuted for the Germany Under-21 side, let alone the senior squad, Germany boss Joachim Low admits he is considering Meyer for his World Cup squad.

“I’ve liked Max Meyer for many weeks now,” Low said. “He’s technically very strong, has no hang-ups and he’s going to go a long way. I’m keeping an eye on several Schalke players.”

Schalke star Julian Draxler is almost certain to be included, while another talented midfielder Leon Goretzka could feature at the World Cup finals.

“He’s a player with extraordinary talent,” added Low. “He’s still young, but he’s already played in many positions.”

Germany have been placed in a very difficult Group G, alongside Portugal, Ghana and USA, but die Mannschaft are 1.57 (4/7) to win the group and 6.50 (11/2) to go all the way.
