England vs PeruAfter the mixed success in warm-up games against Netherlands and Mexico, Ecuador face England at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida in their final friendly before the 2014 World Cup starts.

The Three Lions enjoyed a 3-0 victory over Peru, but they will want to show an improvement when they face La Tri in their penultimate warm-up fixture.

Ecuador national team have been on a constant uptrend ever since they qualified for their first ever World Cup in 2002, and they even managed to reach the Last 16 stage at the 2006 tournament in Germany.

La Tri impressed in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers to pip Uruguay to the final automatic qualifying berth, but the passing of Chucho Benitez has been a major blow for everyone connected to the national team.

The sad even will give the team an extra motivation to do well at the tournament finals, but the problem is Felipe Caicedo is the only high-profile striker in the squad at the moment.

Ecuador fared pretty well in recent international friendlies, sharing spoils with Argentina and Honduras before defeating Australia, while they started the World Cup preparations with a 1-1 draw against Netherlands.

Reinaldo Rueda’s side then suffered a 3-1 loss to Mexico and no doubt they will want to do much better against England in Miami.

Segundo Castillo has been included in the final squad despite suffering a knee injury against Mexico, but he is likely to miss out against England.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Banguera – Paredes, Guagua, Erazo, W. Ayovi – Valencia, Noboa, Mendez, Montero – Caicedo, F. Martinez.

As England produced a promising performance to reach the quarter-finals at the Euro 2012, Roy Hodgson was allowed to keep his job and the experienced manager has led the Three Lions to another tournament finals.

Following back to back defeats to Chile and Germany, England won the March friendly against Denmark, which was their last game before the boss announced his final World Cup squad.

Hodgson served up quite a few surprises, opting for a youthful side that included crocked Wilshire, Chamberlain and Jagielka, while choosing Luke Shaw ahead of Chelsea’s Ashley Cole.

England’s cautious approach produced a good result in their first warm-up game against Peru, although the Three Lions struggled to break their less illustrious opponents and scored two of three goals from set-pieces.

Nevertheless, they will be feeling confident when they face Ecuador in Miami, with away win paying 1.95 (19/20) with Betfair.

Roy Hodgson is unlikely to make wholesale changes to the side that faced Peru, but Jack Wilshere, Raheem Sterling and Luke Shaw could start.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Hart – Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Shaw – Gerrard, Wilshere – Lallana, Rooney, Sterling – Sturridge.
