Sheriff vs Dinamo ZagrebSheriff face a tough task in the return leg after conceding a late goal in Zagreb, but the Moldovan side are certainly not without chances here.

Dinamo needed almost 90 minutes to break their opponents in the first match, but having scored the goal to make it 1-0, they arrive in Tiraspol as favourites to go through.

Sheriff Tiraspol returned to Europe’s elite competition after winning 12th league title in last 13 years, with club chiefs doing really well to reinforce the squad over the summer.

The likes of Fernando, Cadu and Ricardinho have already proved they will be a big asset to the squad, while Thuran, Paye and Jhulliam are also slowly getting there.

However, with no less than 11 new players arriving in the summer transfer window, Sheriff were always going to face problems in the early exchanges, especially after head coach Vitali Rashkevich was sacked just few days before the Champions League qualifiers were due to start.

As a result, the Moldovan giants experienced some problems against Sutjeska, having only mustered a 1-1 draw at home, although they made things right with a 5-0 victory in the return leg.

The team faced a much tougher task in the next round against Dinamo Zagreb, losing the match 1-0, but they can still be backed at 3.50 (5/2) with William Hill to win the return leg.

After resting a number of starters in the weekend’s defeat to Veris, boss Veaceslav Rusnac is set to field his strongest side against Dinamo.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Tomic – Metoua, Samardzic, Thuran, Paye – Stanojevic, Fernando – Ricardinho, Cadu, Henrique – Markovski.

Despite establishing domestic dominance a while back, Dinamo Zagreb have largely struggled to live up to the billing in European competitions.

Just like every summer, Modri squad suffered major changes this term, with Vrsaljko, Migliore, Kelava and Jedvaj all leaving.

However, the club signed some very good players in Junior Fernandes, Hilal Soudani, Ivo Pinto and Gregorz Sandomierski, and the team seem to have gelled much earlier than anyone predicted.

While picking up 10 points from first 4 league games, Dinamo eased off to a 6-0 aggregate win over Fola Esch before recording a hard-fought victory over Sheriff last Tuesday.

With the team saving their best performances for the travels due to everlasting feud between club chiefs and fans, there is a lot of value in betting on away win, at odds of 2.20 (6/5) offered at Paddy Power.

Key midfielder Sammir returns into contention after recovering from injury, but Luis Ibanez, Domagoj Antolic and Fatos Beciraj did not make the squad.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Zelenika – Pinto, Addy, Simunic, Pivaric – Ademi, Pamic – Soudani, Husejinovic, Fernandes – Cop.
