Real Madrid slipped to second in Group D as they were beaten by Borussia Dortmund at Signal-Iduna Park, with los Blancos now looking to get revenge on the Germans.

BVB are aware they can make a giant step towards winning the first place by taking one point from Santiago Bernabeu, but that certainly doesn’t mean the visitors will adopt a defensive approach.

Real Madrid needed some time to recover from the shocking start of the season that saw them drop eight points in first four league games, but los Merengues are slowly returning to the right track.

As the season unfolds, Jose Mourinho’s men are raising their game and this match clearly comes at a good time for them.

Having recorded three convincing victories following the defeat to Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid are now 1.50 (1/2) with William Hill to see off their German opponents.

Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score against Real Zaragoza, thus ending the run of eight successive matches in which he scored at least once, with the Portuguese forward 1.67 (2/3) at Stan James to rediscover his scoring form.

Sami Khedira remains sidelined through injury, with Luka Modric and Michael Essien vying for a place alongside Xabi Alonso in midfield.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Casillas – Ramos, Varane, Pepe, Arbeloa – Alonso, Modric – Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo – Benzema.

Just like their more illustrious opponents, Borussia Dortmund started the season in poor fashion, only to show considerable improvement in recent weeks.

The first match against Real Madrid came at a bad time, given that BVB had just lost at home to Schalke, but Jurgen Klopp’s side, nonetheless, produced a very good showing to record a 2-1 victory.

Borussia thus made a giant step towards progressing from the group of death, although their job is not yet finished.

Given that one point from Santiago Bernabeu would keep BVB at the Group D summit, you should know BetVictor pays 4.60 (18/5) on draw.

Jakub Blaszczykowski remains sidelined through a muscle strain, while Sven Bender is doubtful with a calf injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Weindenfeller – Piszczek, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer – Gundogan, Kehl – Reus, Goetze, Grosskreutz – Lewandowski.
