Dortmund vs RealReal Madrid’s La Decima hopes suffered a huge blow as they suffered a 4-1 defeat in the first leg, but los Blancos are still harbouring hopes of reaching the Champions League final.

Borussia Dortmund are well in the driving seat ahead of the match at Santiago Bernabeu, but they cannot afford to relax just yet.

For the third time this season, Real Madrid were completely outclassed by Borussia Dortmund, but the latest defeat is likely to prove costly as it was suffered in the Champions League semi-finals.

Los Blancos looked to be in an excellent positions when they levelled the score just before half-time, but the hosts then went on to score three second-half goals to create a three-goal advantage before the return leg.

As a result, Jose Mourinho’s men now have a mountain to climb, with BetFred paying 5.00 (4/1) on Real Madrid to qualify. Meanwhile, they are 1.67 (2/3) at William Hill to win the return leg.

With his side needing to score at least three goals to go through, the Portuguese manager looks set start Luka Modric in midfield in an attempt to make his side even more dangerous in the final third.

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to start despite struggling with a muscle problem, while Alvaro Arbeloa and Angel Di Maria should also return to the side.

Marcelo is unlikely to be considered for starting places, while Michael Essien has returned into action at the weekend.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Lopez – Arbeloa, Ramos, Varane, Coentrao – Modric, Alonso – Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo – Higuain.

Borussia Dortmund once again proved why they are regarded as one of Europe’s best sides, with Jurgen Klopp’s men stepping up to the plate and recording a memorable victory over mighty Real Madrid when it mattered the most.

The Millionaires taught their more illustrious opponents a real lesson in football for the third time this term, but they are well aware the job is not finished yet.

It is hardly surprising BVB are 1.20 (1/5) favourites with SkyBet to make it to the final, where they are likely to meet their arch rivals Bayern Munich.

Borussia will be facing the Bavarians in the league next weekend, but it is perfectly clear the match at Santiago Bernabeu is the priority at the moment.

While some other sides would defend for their lives in a similar position, Dortmund are likely to use every chance they get to try and hit the hosts on the break, which should make for an exciting encounter in Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp should be able to field his strongest side in Madrid, although full-back Lukasz Piszczek is expected to play through the pain as he battles a groin injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Weidenfeller – Piszczek, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer – Gundogan, Kehl – Blaszczykowsky, Gotze, Reus – Lewandowski.
