Olympiakos vs Man UtdGreek giants Olympiakos will be aiming to continue the impressive run of results when they host underperforming Manchester United, while the Red Devils are hoping to build on weekend’s victory over Crystal Palace.

Olympiakos have long ago established domestic domination, having won three successive league titles and seven of last eight, but they haven’t enjoyed a great deal of success in Europe.

This is the first time they have qualified for the knockout stages since 2010, when they were eliminated at this stage by Bordeaux.

Michel’s charges impressed in this year’s competition to pip Benfica to the second place in the group and they are now 3.60 (13/5) to win the first leg against Manchester United.

The hosts go into the match in great spirits seeing as how they are currently on a nineteen-match unbeaten run (W16 D3).

However, they could be without several important players as Javier Saviola is out with a groin problem and Nelson Valdez is doubtful.

Striker Marko Scepovic is ineligible, but January signings Ivan Marcano and Hernan Perez are available and expected to start.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Jimenez – Salino, Papadopoulos, Marcano, Holebas – Maniatis, Machado – Campbell, Fuster, Perez – Olaitan.

This season has been a major disappointment for Manchester United, who is already out of both domestic cups and virtually out of contention for a top 4 finish in the Premier League.

It is for that reason that the Red Devils are hoping to go as far as possible in the Champions League since it could be a while before they again participate in Europe’s elite competition.

A goalless draw at Arsenal and weekend’s triumph over improving Crystal Palace certainly services as a confidence boost for David Moyes’ charges, so maybe there is some value in backing United to win at 2.20 (6/5).

January signing Juan Manuel Mata may be ineligible, but Darren Fletcher has been added to the Champions League squad.

The good news is Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie have resumed their attacking partnership, but Phil Jones, Jonny Evans and Rafael are all injury doubts.

Marouane Fellaini has finally returned into action, whilst Danny Welbeck continues to miss out through a knee problem.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): De Gea – Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra – Valencia, Fletcher, Carrick, Januzaj – Rooney – Van Persie.
