Manchester United vs Shakhtar DonetskManchester United may have already secured qualification, but chances are the hosts will be very motivated to win this match following two straight defeats at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Shakhtar need to equal Bayer Leverkusen’s result in the final round in order to qualify and that could mean they have to win in Manchester.

While the Red Devils are on the verge of securing the first place in their Champions League group, their Premier League campaign has been an utter disappointment.

Following back to back home defeats to Everton and Newcastle, Manchester United sit in ninth place, some 13 points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.

And while it is clear they are already out of the title race, even a top 4 finish could become a distant possibility unless the Red Devils start winning soon.

Even if David Moyes is tempted to rest some of his star players having already secured qualification, he is unlikely to do so as third straight home defeat is unthinkable.

It is for that reason that there may be some value in odds of 2.10 (11/10) offered at Stan James on Manchester United to win.

The return of Wayne Rooney is going to be a huge boost for the hosts, with the England star 2.25 (5/4) to score anytime.

Robin van Persie could be rested as he is still not at 100%, but Shinji Kagawa should return after missing the Newcastle match through sickness.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): De Gea – Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra – Valencia, Jones, Cleverley, Januzaj – Rooney – Welbeck.

Shakhtar Donetsk have been struggling to cope with some key departures in the summer, but they appear to be slowly returning to the right track.

A good run on domestic stage saw the Pitmen open up a five-point lead at the top of the league, while they also managed to improve their chances of reaching Champions League knockout stages.

Shakhtar moved to second in group A as they hammered Real Sociedad 4-0, but they remain just one point clear of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen.

And with the Germans facing indifferent La Real on the road, the Pitmen might need to defeat Manchester United in order to go through.

However, given the poor form of their next opponents, there will be quite a few punters tempted to take odds of 3.75 (11/4) offered on home win.

Boss Mircea Lucescu has no fresh injury worries, but Ismaily and Wellington Nem have not been registered for the competition.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Pyatov – Srna, Kucher, Rakitskiy, Shevchuk – Fernando, Hubschman – Douglas Costa, Alex Teixeira, Bernard – Luiz Adriano.
