Having secured a goalless draw at the Velodrome, Manchester United are expected to finish the job at Old Trafford, although Marseille are unlikely to roll over and let United win without a fight.

Even though Sir Alex Ferguson had fielded a weakened side against Arsenal, Manchester United managed to make it to the FA Cup quarter-finals, and they thus returned to winning ways following back to back defeats to Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Red Devils are now hot favourites to make it to the Champions League quarter-finals at the expense of Marseille and they are 1.50 (1/2) to win the game at Bodog.

Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Darren Fletcher should return to the starting line-up, while Antonio Valencia could also play some part after coming as a sub against Arsenal.

Rio Ferdinand has started light training, but he won’t be ready until after the international break, while Park, Anderson, Evans and Hargreaves remain long-term worries.

Marseille couldn’t create an advantage before the return leg at Old Trafford and the French side will have to produce something special to make it to the next stage.

After losing at home to title rivals Lille, Marseille quickly returned to winning ways as they beat Rennes, thus creating a good setting before the clash at Old Trafford.

Striker Brandao has been allowed leave of absence and he will not be in contention, but Andre-Pierre Gignac should feature despite picking up an ankle injury against Rennes.

Marseille are 3.60 (13/5) at Sportingbet to produce an upset and make it to the next round, whereas the odds on United to go through are 1.35 (7/20) at Betfair.
