Man Utd vs BayernFallen giants Manchester United will be eager to prove they can still mix it up with the best of them when they host Champions League holders Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.

Having been in stunning form this season, the Bavarians are rightly considered favourites to make it to the semi-finals.

A couple of months before the end of the season and David Moyes is still in the Manchester United dugout, and it looks as though he will be allowed to continue his job despite some disappointing results this term.

The Red Devils not only failed to mount a serious title challenge in the Premiership, but they are out of the top 4 chase as well, meaning the Champions League is the only stage when they can impress in the remainder of the season.

United indeed produced a very good performance to overturn a two-goal deficit against Olympiakos, even though they rode their luck at times.

However, having been pitted against holders Bayern in the quarter-finals, the Red Devils face an almost impossible task of trying to eliminate the German machinery.

And odds of 7.50 (13/2) offered on home win at bet365 are enough to suggest the size of the task in front of them at the moment.

Robin van Persie, Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling are sidelined through injury, whilst Patrice Evra misses out through suspension and Juan Mata is ineligible.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-1-1): De Gea – Rafael, Vidic, Jones, Buttner – Valencia, Carrick, Fellaini, Kagawa – Rooney– Welbeck.

While many believed Pep Guardiola would not be able to repeat the success achieved by his predecessor, the reality is Bayern have been at least as impressive as last season.

The Bavarians clinched the Bundesliga title with seven games to go, while they are still in the running for other two major trophies.

Having eliminated Arsenal in the Champions League Last 16 stage, Bayern will now be facing another side from England, as they battle Manchester United for a place in the semis.

And with the defeat in the 1999 final still fresh in the fans’ minds, this will be a perfect opportunity for the Germans to get revenge on the Red Devils.

Taking into account team’s latest performances, it is hardly surprising Bayern have been made 1.50 (1/2) favourites to win at Old Trafford.

Important defender Dante misses out through suspension, while Thiago Alcantara has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Neuer – Rafinha, Boateng, Martinez, Alaba – Schweinsteiger, Lahm – Robben, Kroos, Ribery – Mandzukic.
