Borussia Dortmund will probably be out of the competition even if they defeat Tottenham on Tuesday, but they do need a win in order to make it to Europa League knockout stages.

Spurs, on the other hand, are three points clear at the top and they will secure the first position with another triumph.

This season is proving increasingly difficult for Borussia Dortmund and new boss Peter Bosz has been under a great deal of pressure of late.

The Millionaires have now ruined a bright start to the league campaign, slipping to fifth in the overall standings after picking up just one point from last five games.

And while the Bundesliga campaign remains the priority, Borussia will attempt to show some improvement in Europe as well, having largely struggled in the Champions League so far.

With just two points from four fixtures, the Millionaires sit five points behind second-placed Real Madrid, while trailing leaders Tottenham huge eight points.

Peter Bosz will demand a response from his players following yet another Bundesliga defeat, and he will have star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back after sorting out the problem with the club.

On the other hand, Sokratis Papastathopoulos has been added to the treatment room that already contained Marco Reus, Erik Durm, Lukasz Piszczek, Sebastian Rode and Jadon Sancho.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Burki – Toljan, Bartra, Zagadou, Guerreiro – Gotze, Weigl, Dahoud – Yarmolenko, Aubameyang, Philipp.

Unlike their next opponents, Tottenham have done really well this term, especially in the Champions League, and they are now edging towards the first place in the group.

Spurs have so far been unable to keep up with red-hot Manchester City in the Premier League, but they remained in top 4 in spite of weekend’s loss to Arsenal.

On the other hand, Tottenham are close to topping the group that also contains holders Real Madrid and German giants Borussia Dortmund, which is a great achievement.

Spurs now need to continue the rich vein of form in Europe and try to reach the final stages, and they are priced at 3.25 (9/4) to win at Signal-Iduna Park.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino might be tempted to rest some of his first team regulars, but he is, nonetheless, expected to field a strong side.

The likes of Serge Aurier, Harry Winks and Son-Heung Min will all be hoping to find their place in Tottenham’s starting line-up.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-1-1): Lloris – Sanchez, Dier, Vertonghen – Aurier, Sissoko, Dembele, Winks, Rose – Eriksen – Kane.
