Bayern vs BarcelonaMany believe that the tie is already over after the late show from Leo Messi ensured Barcelona take a three-goal lead into the second leg, but no doubt the Bavarians will give their best to prove the doubters wrong.

The Catalans are aware they need to take the second match just as seriously as the first, and they remain hot favourites to qualify for the final.

Having played up to their potential for large periods of the season, Bayern were very unfortunate to have some key players miss the season finale through injury.

And even if their back-ups should have done better, the reality is that serious selection problems are the main reason for team’s latest struggles.

While they had no problems defending the Bundesliga trophy, Bayern were eliminated from the DFB Pokal, while they are on the verge of crashing out of the Champions League as well.

The Bavarians managed to keep Barcelona at bay for almost 80 minutes, but they were powerless to prevent arguably world’s best footballer from scoring two and setting up Neymar to make it 3-0.

Bayern now have a mountain to climb in the second leg, as witnessed by odds of 21.00 (20/1) offered at bet365 on the Bavarians to qualify.

The likes of Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Holger Badstuber and David Alaba continue to miss out through injury, but Mario Gotze could start.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-2-1): Neuer – Rafinha, Boateng, Benatia, Bernat – Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Thiago – Muller, Gotze – Lewandowski.

Luis Enrique is likely to go down as the coach who achieved the most during his first season as a Barcelona boss, with his side still in the race for a treble of titles.

The La Liga trophy is already in the bag after Real Madrid slipped up against Valencia, whilst everybody expects the Catalans to pip Athletic to the Copa del Rey trophy.

But, it was the 3-0 triumph over Bayern Munich in the Champions League semis that most delighted club fans, with the amazing atmosphere at Camp Nou proving how important this trophy is for the Barcelona faithful.

Even if the Catalans did not have an easy job in the first leg, all it took was a little bit of magic from Lionel Messi to all but secure progress into the final.

And with Barcelona in much better spirits than the opposition, bear in mind they can be backed at 2.80 (9/5) to win the return leg as well.

With Jeremy Mathieu back in contention, Luis Enrique will have fully fit squad to select from, with the likes of ter Stegen, Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta and Alba set to be recalled.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): ter Stegen – Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba – Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta – Messi, Suarez, Neymar.
