Bayern vs RomaBayern Munich have the opportunity to secure the first place in the group with yet another win over the Italian giants, although they could face a much more difficult task this time out.

Roma may have suffered an embarrassing 7-1 defeat two weeks ago, but the Giallorossi will be determined to prove that was just a one-off result.

Despite all the injury problems Pep Guardiola faced in the opening exchanges, Bayern Munich have done extremely well so far, with German Super Cup defeat to Borussia Dortmund the only setback up to date.

The Bavarians enjoyed a perfect revenge on their bitter rivals having come from a goal behind to win the weekend’s clash in Bundesliga and they now sit amazing 17 points clear of the Millionaires in the league standings.

Meanwhile, Bayern have impressed in the Champions League as well, winning all three group games so far, with 7-1 triumph at Stadio Olimpico obviously the highlight of their campaign.

The Bavarians now hope to record another victory over AS Roma and have been made 1.25 (1/4) favourites to win the return match.

Pep Guardiola is widely expected to make some changes to his starting line-up, and it remains to be seen whether Franck Ribery will be handed his first start after returning from injury.

The Spanish coach has no fresh selection worries, but Bastian Schweinsteiger, Holger Badstuber, Thiago Alcantara, Pepe Reina and Tom Starke remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Neuer – Benatia, Boateng, Dante – Robben, Lahm, Alonso, Bernat – Muller, Gotze – Lewandowski.

Serie A title chase is a priority for AS Roma this season, but the Italian giants obviously want to do well in the Champions League as well.

The Giallorossi suffered a costly league defeat to Napoli at the weekend, but that is nothing compared to the result of their previous match against Bayern.

The heavy loss didn’t seem to have such a big effect on what is a very experienced squad, but no doubt Roma will be out to get revenge at Alianz Arena.

The Giallorossi are winless in last four away matches, but they are more than capable of scoring in Munich, so both teams to score bet needs to be considered at 2.00 (1/1).

Douglas Maicon has failed to make the trip to Germany due to a knee injury, while Strootman, Balzaretti, Borriello, Curci, Astori and Castan are out injured.

Mattia Destro is expected to replace Francesco Totti up front, while Daniele De Rossi will be recalled after he was rested at the weekend.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): De Sanctis – Torosidis, Manolas, Yanga-Mbiwa, Cole – Pjanic, De Rossi, Nainggolan – Iturbe, Destro, Gervinho.
