Man City vs BarcelonaGroup C leaders Barcelona will be on the lookout for third successive triumph in the competition when they host Manchester City on Wednesday evening.

Pep Guardiola returns to Camp Nou with his new side, aiming to make amends for the 3-3 draw against Celtic and he will be hoping for a hero’s welcome.

After largely impressing last season, Barcelona have had a somewhat slow start to the new campaign, but there is still plenty of time to make things right.

The three setbacks they suffered on domestic stage are unlikely to prove a major issue, while the team have done much better in Europe.

Barcelona hammered Celtic 7-0 in their opening Champions League fixture, before defeating Borussia M’gladbach on the road, and they are now 1.57 (4/7) to see off Man City as well.

The Catalans recovered well from the unexpected loss to Celta Vigo, beating Deportivo La Coruna 4-0 at the weekend, while Luis Enrique also managed to rest several star players.

This means that the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Jordi Alba and Javier Mascherano will be recalled to the starting line-up.

Luis Enrique should have Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba back to the side after they missed the Deportivo clash through injury, but Jasper Cillessen is definitely out.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): ter Stegen – Sergi Roberto, Pique, Mascherano, Alba – Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta – Messi, Suarez, Neymar.

Manchester City had enjoyed a remarkable start to the season under Pep Guardiola, but they have since experienced the first problems.

The 3-3 draw with Celtic was followed by 2-0 loss to Tottenham, and while Man City were hoping to return to winning ways at the weekend, they failed to do so.

The Citizens showed some improvement and completely outclassed Everton, but had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate after missing no fewer than two penalties.

This means that they’ve got to try and produce a quality performance at Camp Nou, which is obviously easier said than done.

Key men Kevin De Bruyne and Vincent Kompany both returned to the side at the weekend, but the captain is highly unlikely to start.

Fabian Delph and Bacary Sagna remain on the sidelines, but Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov should be recalled.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Bravo – Zabaleta, Otamendi, Stones, Kolarov – De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Silva – Sterling, Aguero, Nolito.
