Barcelona vs Man CityBarcelona will need to put their La Liga blues behind them and ensure they qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals, with Manchester City hoping to spoil the party.

The Citizens cannot afford to let the weekend’s FA Cup defeat to Wigan get to them if they want to overturn a two-goal deficit from the first leg.

These past few weeks have been pretty disappointing for Barcelona, meaning they could really use a morale-boosting victory over City.

The Catalans seriously damaged their La Liga title hopes by losing to Real Sociedad and Real Valladolid, and with 11 games to go Tata Martino’s side sit four points behind leaders Real Madrid.

And with Carles Puyol, Victor Valdes and few other first team players likely to leave at the end of the campaign, it looks as though this is an end of an era for Barcelona.

The Catalans will make sure to get the most out of this season before the major squad overhaul in the summer and they are clearly in a very good position to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

Having won the first leg 2-0 at Etihad, Barcelona are rightly considered 1.57 (4/7) favourites to record a victory in the return match as well.

Apart from long-term casualties Jonathan dos Santos and Isaac Cuenca, Gerardo Martino has no selection worries at the moment.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Valdes – Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba – Xavi, Busquets, Fabregas – Sanchez, Messi, Neymar.

After winning the first title of the season by beating Sunderland in Capital One Cup final, Manchester City players started believing they could even won the quadruple of trophies, but their dream was quickly over.

The Citizens suffered a shock defeat to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup quarter-finals and just three days later they are set to face Barcelona in the Champions League Last 16 clash.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side were pretty disappointing in the first leg, losing the game 2-0 after Martin Demichelis had been sent off, but they are hoping they could produce an upset against out-of-sorts Barcelona at Camp Nou.

And even though this is clearly a long shot, you should know Manchester City are 6.00 (5/1) to win the return leg and 15.00 (14/1) to make it to the next stage.

Calamitous Martin Demichelis is suspended to the delight of City fans everywhere, whilst Matija Nastasic and Stevan Jovetic are major doubts.

The likes of David Silva, Aleksandar Kolarov, Pablo Zabaleta, Joe Hart and Vincent Kompany will be recalled after they were rested at the weekend.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Hart – Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov – Toure, Fernandinho – Silva, Aguero, Nasri – Negredo.
