Aleix VidalChampions League winners Barcelona have announced on their official website that they have signed Spanish full-back Aleix Vidal from Sevilla.

According to BBC Sport, the Catalans will splash out around £16 million for the highly rated footballer, who arrives at Camp Nou as a replacement for Dani Alves.

Vidal will sign a five-year deal later today and he will be officially unveiled as a Barcelona player at 1pm CET after completing a medical.

The Catalans are banned from registering new players until January 2016, meaning that the new signing could be farmed out on loan in the first part of the new season.

Aleix Vidal arrived at Sevilla as a right winger, but he was converted to right-back in the second part of the season.

The 25-year-old made a total of 47 competitive appearances for the club this season, scoring 6 goals and producing 11 assists.

Having won the second treble of titles in history, Barcelona have high hopes ahead of the new season, and they are 4.50 (7/2) to defend the Champions League trophy.
