Atletico vs BarcaFollowing the somewhat unfortunate 2-1 defeat in the first leg, Atletico Madrid will be looking to repeat the heroics from two years ago and again pip Barcelona to a place in the CL semis.

The Catalans are in all sorts of problems at the moment and they will have to work hard to prevent los Colchoneros from gaining the upper hand.

Atletico Madrid have proved time and again that they are now good enough to match just about any team in Europe and they are now effectively in the race for two major trophies.

Barcelona’s three slip-ups in the league saw los Colchoneros close the gap behind league leaders to mere three points, meaning the league trophy is now back in their reach.

At the same time, Diego Simeone’s charges produced a very good performance in the Champions League clash with the Catalans, but harsh red card for Fernando Torres changed everything.

Barcelona ended up scoring two goals past ten-man Atletico, but los Colchoneros are now even more determined to win the return leg.

And seeing that their opponents are going through a very rough patch at the moment, bear in mind that home win pays 3.40 (12/5).

Jose Maria Gimenez and Stefan Savic have trained this week, but the Uruguayan looks unlikely to be available for selection.

Angel Correa and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco are rated doubtful, whereas Tiago Mendes is definitely out, but Oliver Torres returns. Fernando Torres is banned.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Oblak – Juanfran, Godin, Savic, FIlipe Luis – Fernandez, Gabi, Koke – Saul, Griezmann, Ferreira-Carrasco.

Barcelona have been pretty impressive this season, but the latest poor run of results is threatening to hurt their title ambitions.

The Catalans have made a real mess out of their league campaign, with failure to win any of their last three fixtures giving a lifeline to both Madrid clubs.

On top of that, Barcelona were not at their best in the Champions League quarter-final clash with Atletico Madrid, and they were quite fortunate to record the 2-1 triumph.

The Catalans need to wake up and smell the coffee ahead of the return leg at Vicente Calderon, seeing that another poor display would see them crash out of the elite competition.

Barcelona have been made 2.30 (13/10) favourites to win the return match, but we don’t see a great deal of value in those odds.

Luis Enrique will have to make do without Thomas Vermalen (calf), whereas Rafinha Alcantara is rated doubtful as he battles an adductor problem.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): ter Stegen – Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba – Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta – Messi, Suarez, Neymar.
