Barcelona vs AtleticoHaving recorded a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou, high-flying Atletico Madrid aim to build on the result from the first leg and make it to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 1974.

Meanwhile, Barcelona remain the favourites to go through, but it is perfectly clear the Catalans face a difficult job at Vicente Calderon.

Atletico Madrid’s dream season continues and if los Colchoneros can just keep their rich vein of form for another month or so, they will soar to unimagined heights.

With just six games to go, Diego Simeone’s side remain at the La Liga summit, even if the prospect of facing Barcelona at Camp Nou on the final day of the campaign could be a cause for concern.

Nevertheless, Atletico did really well to successfully skip another difficult hurdle on the way to the league title, having recorded a narrow win over Villarreal at the weekend.

And following the 1-1 draw in the first leg against Barcelona, los Colchoneros can be backed at 2.25 (5/4) to qualify for the semis.

Diego Simeone, however, faces a real selection headache as key men Diego Costa and Arda Turan are major doubts, but David Villa is 3.50 (5/2) to score against his former club.

The good news is captain Gabi Fernandez returns from suspension, whereas youngster Javi Manquillo is available as well.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Courtois – Juanfran, Godin, Miranda, Filipe Luis – Koke, Tiago, Gabi, Diego – Raul Garcia, Villa.

Barcelona may still be in the race for three major trophies, but their position is hardly enviable at this point in time.

The Catalans sit one point behind Atletico Madrid in the league standings, while the 1-1 draw against the same opposition in the Champions League puts them in a difficult position ahead of the second leg.

Barcelona did outplay their less illustrious opponents in the first match, but failed to take their chances and now need to show improvement at Vicente Calderon.

The fact the Catalans remain 1.67 (2/3) favourites to make it through to the next round is enough to suggest Tata Martino’s side are still held in high regard by online bookmakers.

The visitors will be heavily relying on Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, who looks a good bet to score at 2.20 (6/5) offered at 888sport.

According to the latest reports, Cesc Fabregas will start as a false nine, with Messi and Neymar likely to be deployed on the wings.

Marc Bartra is set to deputize for the injured Gerard Pique, whilst Victor Valdes, Carles Puyol, Jonathan Dos Santos and Isaac Cuenca are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Pinto – Alves, Bartra, Mascherano, Alba – Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta – Messi, Fabregas, Neymar.
