psg-vs-arsenalSitting level on points ahead of the final two group fixtures, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will battle it out for the first place in Group A.

The reverse fixture ended 1-1 at Parc des Princes, and we definitely expect another close encounter between two evenly matched sides.

Arsenal have secured some steady income by regularly finishing in Premier League top 4 and reaching the Champions League knockout stages, but they just couldn’t get past the first knockout phase.

After getting eliminated at the Last 16 stage in each of the last six editions, the Gunners are desperate to pip PSG to the first place in the group, which should ensure they face easier opposition.

Arsenal have been pretty impressive this season and they are unbeaten in last 17 fixtures, although their last two performances have left something to be desired.

The Gunners were especially disappointing in the high-profile clash against Man Utd, only for Olivier Giroud to score the equaliser after coming off the bench.

The Frenchman should have done enough to secure a starting berth for the PSG game, but Aaron Ramsey could be dropped.

Meanwhile, Santi Cazorla, Hector Bellerin, Per Mertesacker, Lucas Perez and Danny Welbeck remain in the treatment room.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Cech – Jenkinson, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal – Coquelin, Xhaka – Walcott, Ozil, Sanchez – Giroud.

Paris Saint-Germain are also desperate for Champions League success and even though they have done much better than Arsenal in recent years, they just couldn’t mount a serious title challenge.

The Saints have now been stopped in the last 8 on four occasions, and they obviously aim to improve this season.

It is important to note that Paris Saint-Germain are no longer strong favourites for the Ligue 1 title as Monaco and Nice are also in the mix, meaning they cannot fully focus on their Champions League exploits.

The good news is that the Saints have upped their game of late, winning last four fixtures on all fronts and they are 2.35 (27/20) to make it five on the bounce.

Head coach Unai Emery is sweating over the fitness of Angel Di Maria and Alphonse Areola, who have made the trip to UK, but might not start.

On the other hand, Javier Pastore and Layvin Kurzawa have failed to recover from injury and they are definitely out of contention.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Trapp – Aurier, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Maxwell – Verratti, Motta, Matuidi – Lucas Moura, Cavani, Ben Arfa.
