Arsenal vs Bayern MunichFollowing the two knockout stage encounters where Bayern Munich emerged victorious, Arsenal hope to get revenge on the Bavarians by defeating them in the Champions League group stage.

The German champions arrive at the Emirates on the back of a 12-match winning run, knowing that another one of these would all but end the Gunners’ qualifying hopes.

With key attacker Alexis Sanchez struggling with fitness in the opening exchanges, Arsenal were unable to hit the ground running or find any sort of consistency.

And while they eventually managed to show improvement on the domestic stage, the Gunners suffered two defeats in Champions League group phase that put them in a very difficult position.

With two games against mighty Bayern up next, Arsenal need to win at least one of those in order to stay in contention for a place in the knockout stages.

The good news is that the Gunners appear to be in a very good moment having recorded back to back wins over Manchester United and Watford, scoring 6 goals in the process.

As a result, odds of 4.10 (31/10) offered by BetVictor on away win might be worth a shot, despite the fact that Bayern won on their last two visits to North London.

Arsene Wenger hopes to have Gabriel Paulista available for selection, but Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta are definitely out.

Olivier Giroud is back after missing the Olympiakos game through suspension, whereas Mathieu Flamini returns as well.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Cech – Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal – Coquelin, Cazorla – Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez – Walcott.

This season had a marvellous start for Bayern Munich, and no doubt the Bavarians will attempt to keep the current run going for as long as possible.

Over two months into the new campaign and Pep Guardiola’s charges have yet to suffer the first slip-up, having won a total of 12 games in a row.

What is more, they recorded six straight wins by a margin of three goals or more before recording a narrow triumph over Werder in a match where they clearly had one eye on the Arsenal game.

Bayern now hope to make it three wins in a row at the Emirates and they have been made 1.95 (19/20) favourites to emerge victorious.

While Franck Ribery remains a long-term casualty, Arjen Robben has failed to recover from injury and he misses the trip to London.

The good news is that Kingsley Coman is back in contention after a muscle problem, but he is not going to start at the Emirates.

Probable starting line-up (3-3-3-1): Neuer – Boateng, Martinez, Alaba – Lahm, Alonso, Thiago – Muller, Vidal, Douglas Costa – Lewandowski.
