Xavi and Abidal resume training

Xavi AbidalBarcelona footballers Xavi Hernandez and Eric Abidal have both resumed training yesterday after recovering from their respective ailments.

The French defender trained with the second team after he was given the all clear following a liver transplant.

He has thus returned into action following an 18-month spell on the sidelines, but he is still at least few weeks away from playing in a competitive match.

There was more good news for Barcelona staff as Xavi Hernandez resumed light training after withdrawing from international duty because of a hamstring problem.

This basically means that he will probably be in contention for the Getafe match on Sunday, although Jordi Roura may decide not to risk the midfielder.

Barcelona resume their Champions League campaign on 20th February as they face Milan at San Siro, with the Catalans now 3.25 (9/4) at Coral to go all the way this season.
