Villarreal vs ValenciaSitting at La Liga rock bottom after four rounds, Valencia find themselves in all sorts of problems ahead of the visit of in-form Deportivo Alaves.

The newcomers may have failed to beat Deportivo La Coruna on Monday, but they remain unbeaten in the top flight this season.

Valencia have been on a certain downtrend over the last year or so, finishing the previous campaign in 12th position, but they have suffered a new low this season.

Even if they stayed without Andre Gomes, Paco Alcacer and Shkodran Mustafi, los Che signed some quality footballers, which is why nobody could predict such a disappointing start.

Despite not facing any of the top sides, Valencia lost their first four La Liga fixtures in the new campaign, and coach Pako Ayestaran paid the price for poor results.

He has been sacked after the 2-1 loss to Athletic Bilbao, with Voro Gonzalez appointed the new interim manager until new head coach is chosen.

The new coach will have key midfielder Enzo Perez back from suspension, but Aymen Abdennour, Matt Ryan and Ezequiel Garay continue to miss out.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Alves – Cancelo, Santos, Mangala, Gaya – Parejo, Mario, Perez – Rodrigo, Nani, Santi Mina.

Deportivo Alaves returned to La Liga after a ten-year absence and the club board ensured to give coach Mauricio Pellegrino and his side the best possible chance of survival.

El Glorioso recruited quite a few new footballers in the summer, while all key men remained, and the team in turn enjoyed a very good start to the season.

Opening draws against Atletico Madrid and Sporting Gijon further improved the atmosphere in the squad, before a memorable win over Barcelona at Camp Nou hinted Deportivo Alaves could be one of the surprise packages this season.

El Glorioso then somewhat struggled in the goalless draw against Deportivo La Coruna, but they are now looking to pile more misery on sorry Valencia.

Deadline day recruit Aleksandar Katai was handed his debut at the weekend, and he is pushing for a start, but Zouhair Feddal remains in the infirmary.

Probable starting line-up (5-4-1): Pacheco – Femenia, Alexis, Laguardia, Raul Garcia, Hernandez – Edgar, Manu Garcia, Marcos Llorente, Ibai – Deyverson.
