Sevilla vs Valencia 0-0The all-Spanish Europa League semi-final will see red-hot Sevilla battle La Liga rivals Valencia for a place in the final, with Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan staging the first leg.

Having won back to back UEFA Cup titles in 2006 and 2007, los Rojblancos hope to win their first trophy since the competition was re-branded in 2009.

And looking at team’s recent performances, Sevilla have got to be considered hot favourites to win the first leg at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

After struggling for consistency in the opening exchanges, Unai Emery’s side seriously raised their form since the turn of the year and now have a glorious opportunity to achieve two major milestones.

The run of nine victories in last ten league games saw los Rojiblancos come within three points of the final Champions League berth and they will have a perfect chance to neutralize the advantage when they face Athletic Bilbao next weekend.

Meanwhile, they impressed to reach the Europa League semi-finals and having hammered FC Porto last time out, Sevilla are 1.91 (10/11) favourites to defeat Valencia as well.

Talented full-back Alberto Moreno is doubtful with a hamstring problem, while Coke misses out through suspension.

Denis Cheryshev and Sebastian Cristoforo are out injured, whereas Carlos Bacca, Jairo Samperio and Diogo Figueiras are one yellow away from a ban.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Beto – Figueiras, Fazio, Pareja, Navarro – Iborra, M’Bia – Reyes, Rakitic, Marin – Bacca.

This has been a pretty disappointing season for Valencia, with los Che currently sitting in eighth place in the league standings, but there have been some positives for Juan Antonio Pizzi’s side as well.

Against all odds, los Che made it to Europa League semi-finals, with 5-0 triumph over FC Basel following the 3-0 defeat in the first leg arguably the highlight of their campaign.

And with the team’s remaining league fixtures unlikely to change anything, Valencia are likely to fully focus on the Europa League clash against Sevilla.

Los Che can take heart from the fact they took four points off their league opponents this term, winning the home game 3-1 and playing out a goalless draw at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

But, with their league rivals in much better form at the moment, I am not sure there is value in odds of 1.97 (32/33) offered on Valencia not to lose.

Antonio Barragan and Javi Fuergo return from domestic suspension, but Diego Alves, Victor Ruiz, Philippe Senderos and Ricardo Costa are out injured.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Guaita – Pereira, Fuego, Mathieu, Bernat – Parejo, Keita – Feghouli, Vargas, Fede – Alcacer.
