Sevilla vs Valencia preview

Valencia vs SevillaSevilla don’t have much to play for at the moment, even though they will attempt to ensure a top 10 finish in La Liga with a positive result from the Valencia game.

Los Che, on the other hand, are locked in the battle with Real Sociedad for the final Champions League place and they are aware a fifth successive win would see them clinch a top 4 finish.

Sevilla may have experienced all kinds of problems this season, but they could have done much better in all the competitions entered.

Los Rojiblancos were on the verge of making it to the Copa del Rey final, but ended up losing the semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid, thus missing the first chance to secure European qualification.

They then returned into contention for a top 7 finish in La Liga, but back to back defeats to Real Sociedad and Osasuna ended team’s European hopes.

All that’s left now is for Unai Emery’s side to try and keep their place in the top half of the standings, with los Rojiblancos 3.40 (12/5) at BetVictor to return to winning ways.

Federico Fazio and Jose Antonio Reyes miss out through injury and suspension respectively, but full-back Alberto Moreno returns to the side.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Beto – Coke, Cala, Navarro, Moreno – Medel, Kondogbia – Navas, Rakitic, Perotti – Negredo.

Despite showing a lot of improvement under Ernesto Valverde, Valencia found themselves in a very difficult position some month ago.

Los Che were five points behind Champions League positions following the 4-2 defeat to Real Sociedad and it looked as though they would certainly miss out on the big prize.

However, the team refused to give up and just four games later they are two points clear in the fourth place in the standings.

Four straight victories have seen Valencia keep their Champions League dream alive, and they are 2.15 (23/20) with Ladbrokes to make it five on the trot.

That will be no easy task as Sevilla boast one of the best home records in the league, but los Che, nonetheless, arrive at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan brimming with confidence.

Nelson Valdez and Tino Costa look set to miss out through injury, while Andres Guardado is away on international duty.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Guaita – Pereira, R. Costa, Mathieu, Cissokho – Albelda, Parejo – Canales, Banega, Jonas – Soldado.
