Messi KhediraGerman midfielder Sami Khedira is ready to return to first team training, Spanish daily newspaper Marca has revealed.

The highly rated midfielder has missed last five weeks of action through a thigh injury, but he has been stepping up his recovery of late.

Khedira has been working with German doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfart over the last couple of weeks, while spending some time at England’s St George’s Park base as well.

The Germany international is widely expected to resume full training during the international break, but the weekend’s La Liga clash against Levante, where los Blancos are 1.22 (2/9) for a win, comes too soon for him.

Real Madrid have raised their form following a dismal start to the season, winning last six matches in all competitions.

The 5-0 triumph over Athletic Bilbao saw them climb to fourth in the standings, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side remain four points adrift of leaders Barcelona.
