Real Madrid vs AtleticoHaving won the UEFA Super Cup by defeating Sevilla, Real Madrid now host Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.

And while los Blancos are hoping to get revenge on their bitter rivals for missing out on the La Liga trophy, los Colchoneros will also have vengeance on their minds after coming so close to lifting the Champions League title.

Despite finishing third in the league campaign, Real Madrid managed to turn the season into a success by winning La Decima as well as the Copa del Rey trophy.

Even so, the club chiefs ensured los Blancos are given the best possible chance of enjoying another great season by splashing the cash on three world-class players.

World Cup stars James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Keylor Navas all arrived with only Alvaro Morata and Diego Lopez leaving so far.

Angel Di Maria and Sami Khedira continue to be linked with summer exit, but both players are still in contention for starting places.

Real Madrid kicked off the new season in style, defeating Sevilla to lift the UEFA Super Cup trophy, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a brace.

Los Blancos are now available at 1.55 (5/9) to win the first leg against Atletico, whereas CR7 is 1.73 (8/11) with Stan James to score anytime.

With no fresh injury worries to report, Carlo Ancelotti looks set to field a similar side to that which started the Sevilla game last Tuesday.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Casillas – Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao – Modric, Alonso – Bale, James, Ronaldo – Benzema.

Atletico Madrid enjoyed a stunning season last term, winning the La Liga title while reaching the Champions League final, but their success came at a price.

Los Colchoneros were unable to keep hold of their star players this summer, as the likes of Diego Costa, David Villa, Adrian Lopez, Filipe Luis, Thibaut Courtois, Diego Ribas and few others all left.

The club management did make sure to sign quality replacements, adding Mario Mandzukic, Antoine Griezmann, Jan Oblak, Raul Jimenez, Guilherme Siqueira, Cristian Ansaldi, Miguel Moya and Jesus Gamez to their ranks.

The biggest question now is how long the new squad will need to gel, but some impressive performances in pre-season are enough to suggest it will be sooner rather than later.

If there is anyone that can shock the star-studded Real Madrid side, it is probably Atletico Madrid, so it is important to note Diego Simeone’s charges are 3.40 (12/5) to lift the first trophy of the domestic season.

After the second string side defeated Sampdoria in the final of Trofeo Ramon de Carranza, the boss will revert to his strongest line-up for the Real game.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Moya – Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Siqueira – Koke, Gabi – Turan, Garcia, Griezmann – Mandzukic.
