Danilo FC PortoChampions League holders Real Madrid have communicated that they have completed the signing of Brazilian full-back Danilo Luiz da Silva from FC Porto.

Media reports in Spain suggested few weeks ago that los Blancos had found an agreement with the Dragons and the rumours have now been confirmed.

“Real Madrid and Porto have reached an agreement for the transfer of Danilo, who will join next season and be tied to the club until June 30, 2021,” Real said in a statement on Wednesday.

Danilo joined los Blancos in a £23 million deal and has put pen to paper on a six-year deal with the Spanish giants.

The 23-year-old has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last year or so as he established himself as an important player for both club and country.

Danilo is now set to battle Daniel Carvajal for a starting berth at Santiago Bernabeu, with Alvaro Arbeloa almost certain to leave.

Real Madrid continue the title defence by facing local rivals Atletico Madrid in the CL quarter-finals, with los Blancos priced at 1.50 (1/2) to qualify for the last four.
