Rayo vs RealHigh-flying Rayo Vallecano will attempt to put a dent into Real Madrid’s title bid when they host the local rivals at Estadio Teresa Rivero on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, los Blancos are searching for another resounding win after hammering Granada 9-1 last time out, hoping to stay close to leaders Barcelona.

Rayo Vallecano are enjoying one of the most successful seasons in recent years and they appear to have secured La Liga survival with nine games to go.

Los Franjirrojos were not that impressive until recently, but the latest excellent run of results changed everything for Paco Jemez’s side.

Rayo won four of last five La Liga fixtures to climb to ninth in the league standings and they now sit huge 13 points above the bottom three.

And seeing as they can now play without any pressure when facing Real Madrid, both teams to score bet should be considered at 1.64 (16/25).

The hosts will again be heavily relying on 16-goal striker Alberto Bueno, while they have Roberto Trashorras and Antonio Amaya back from suspension.

The likes of Raul Baena and Ze Roberto both face fitness tests, but Leo Baptistao is definitely out through injury and should not be back before May.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Alvarez – Tito, Ze Castro, Amaya, Nacho Martinez – Baena, Trashorras – Kakuta, Bueno, Adri – Manucho.

Defeats to Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid seriously derailed Real Madrid’s title bid and they now have mere nine games to try and neutralize a four-point gap behind leaders Barcelona.

The home clash with Granada was extremely important as los Blancos desperately needed to restore some of the lost confidence after the El Clasico loss, and the players in turn produced a brilliant response.

Real hammered los Rojiblancos 9-1 at the Bernabeu, with Ronaldo scoring five goals in the process, and no doubt they will be feeling confidence ahead of the short trip to Vallecas.

Los Merengues have been made 1.25 (1/4) favourites to defeat in-form Rayo Vallecano, with the Portuguese superstar 1.45 (9/25) to score anytime.

After James Rodriguez marked his return with an impressive performance, Carlo Ancelotti faces a genuine selection headache as he will probably have to leave Isco on the bench.

The Spain international is available after serving a one-match ban, but Pepe remains on the sidelines with Raphael Varane set to deputize.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Casillas – Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo – Modric, Kroos, Rodriguez – Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo.
