Atletico vs RealOld rivals meet again in the Copa del Rey final at Santiago Bernabeu in search of glory that has managed to elude them both this season.

As the season is drawing to a close it’s time to look back on team’s achievements this term, and it is clear los Blancos don’t have much to be happy about.

They did pip Barcelona to the Spanish Super Cup trophy, but failed to mount a serious title challenge in La Liga and the Champions League, much to the dismay of their fans.

The Copa del Rey trophy would improve the situation considerably, with los Merengues 1.55 (5/9) favourites with BetVictor to beat their rivals in regular time.

Real Madrid have played some good football after the disappointing 4-1 defeat in Dortmund and the excellent head to head record against Atletico is likely to serve as an additional boost.

After bagging no less than 10 goals in last two home games, los Blancos are 2.50 (3/2) at William Hill to score at least three in this match.

Jose Mourinho has some selection problems as Raphael Varane is definitely out, while Pepe continues to be overlooked, but there are some positives as well.

Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Arbeloa, Mesut Ozil and Marcelo have all resumed training and chances are the first three are going to start against Atletico.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Lopez – Arbeloa, Ramos, Albiol, Coentrao – Alonso, Khedira – Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo – Benzema.

The fact is Atletico Madrid have enjoyed a lot of success since Diego Simeone took over, but all their impressive results remained marred by their inability to beat their local rivals.

Los Colchoneros have gone 14 years without beating Real Madrid and no doubt they will be hugely motivated to end the barren run at Santiago Bernabeu.

That will be no easy task given that they have lost to second string Real side in the league just few weeks ago, but Atletico are not prepared to go out without a fight.

Diego Simeone’s side have been pretty inconsistent of late, winning just one of last four league fixtures, so no wonder they are 3.75 (11/4) with Coral to lift the trophy.

Once again they will be heavily relying on striker Radamel Falcao, who is 2.75 (7/4) with SkyBet to score at any time and take his total season tally to 35 goals.

With Mario Suarez having resumed full training and Arda Turan finally at 100%, Simeone will have fully fit squad to choose from.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Courtois – Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Filipe Luis – Mario, Gabi – Diego Costa, Koke, Turan – Falcao.
