Elche vs Celta VigoHigh-flying Celta Vigo play host to underperforming Valencia at their Balaidos, hoping to prove they have what it takes to mount a serious title challenge.

Having lost last two matches on the road, los Che desperately need to show some improvement or their top 4 bid will soon be over.

Celta Vigo have been on a major uptrend for a couple of years now and it appears they have no plans to stop the ascend any time soon.

The club entered the new season with a virtually unchanged squad, with only forgotten Iago Aspas and Daniel Wass arriving, but the two footballers went on to play an important role in the remarkable start to the season.

Having struck up an excellent understanding with the unplayable Nolito, the former Liverpool forward quickly revived his career, scoring 6 goals in 10 matches.

And with his other teammates also performing to their potential, Celta climbed to third in the La Liga standings, showing incredible consistency in recent weeks.

The team quickly forgot all about the home loss to Real Madrid and having defeated Real Sociedad on the road, they are now 1.91 (10/11) to see off Valencia as well.

Gustavo Cabral continues to serve his suspension, but key midfielder Augusto Fernandez is back after missing the La Real clash.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Alvarez – Mallo, Sergi Gomez, Fontas, Jonny – Wass, Fernandez, Hernandez – Orellana, Aspas, Nolito.

After impressing last term, Valencia have experienced plenty of problems this season, with the clash between coach Nuno and striker Alvaro Negredo clearly affecting the dressing room atmosphere.

The 30-year-old has now failed to make the match squad for over a month and it would appear that his short stint with los Che is drawing to a close.

Meanwhile, Valencia missed an excellent chance to all but secure their place in the Champions League knockout stages, with the 1-0 defeat to Gent acting as another confidence blow.

And having also lost to Atletico Madrid in their previous away match, los Che could find it hard to match red-hot Celta Vigo at Balaidos.

The visitors have some important missings with Enzo Perez banned and Diego Alves and Rodrigo Moreno out injured.

Aymen Abdennour and Matt Ryan near return from injury, but the pair is unlikely to be risked in the high-profile clash with Celta Vigo.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Jaume Domenech – Barragan, Vezo, Mustafi, Gaya – Parejo, Fuego, Andre Gomes – Feghouli, Alcacer, Piatti.
